It can be hard to "get" Orthodox life, but I think this book does a reasonably good job of conveying both the richness and the narrowness. I especially liked Gittel's growth after her marriage when she has a better understanding of what happened to her friend as a child. I doubt frum girls are quite as ignorant of Oprah as is presented here, but I found the narrator credible and moving as she describes *her* experience. This is an "issue" book, but its context gives it a unique perspective.
