Okay, I'll admit it, this was really good. It took forever to finally get past the fact that it's a fad (I've always been very hesitant to read books that are fads, i.e. Twilight, Harry Potter, etc.), but now that I've read it, I have to say that its fame is well-earned. I ate this book up. A few parts were a little predictable, but I think that came from my experience with stories and the subtleties of foreshadowing more than it did from cliche story-telling. I really liked that the romance seemed sappy on the surface, but that there was more to it, with ulterior motives behind it. I also really liked that Katniss doesn't immediately fall for Peeta just because he's hot. I also like the undertones of some sort of rebellion brewing. I'll definitely have to read the next two books. Looking forward to the movie!
