Rarely is there a trilogy in which each book has a distinct character and a valuable contribution to make. This is the case with the Foundation Trilogy. In Foundation, the first book, we meet Hari Seldon and the psychohistorians. Their goal is to shroten the age of barbarism following the collapse of galactic civilization by using the precise calculations of psychohistory. This is science fiction filled with great ideas and that is also a lot of fun to read.
