'Out and About and through the year' is about the four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter. It tells a story about each of the season in the format of a poem. There are eighteen poems altogether, each relating to a specific topic to do with the season, such as 'Cold', and this poem talks about the feelings and experiences during the cold days in winter. This is a good book to read to children, as there are many illustrations to go with the actions of the poems. Also, you can pick and choose a specific poem to read on a particular day during one of the seasons. This book can be used for discussions about the four seasons and explore the children's knowledge about the seasons, and get them to talk about their feelings and experiences during each season. Every child would be able to relate to all the poems in the book. Its a fun book to read, and a great way to engage the children to explore and learn about the seasons.
