Evan Ross and Kelsey Peterson have been best friends for ten years.

After never receiving any signs from Evan that he say her as anything but a kid sister, when he introduced her to his best friend at a party in college, she ended up getting into a relationship with him and later marrying him.

Despite their friendship wavered some, they always managed to stay in contact, even if their significant other was suspicious of their friendship.

Just months before Evan's own wedding, Kelsey walked into her bedroom and found her husband and Evan's fiancee together. After making a screaming call to Evan, their friendship really took a backseat during her divorce process.

Both feeling angry, betrayed and hurt. Although Kelsey more than Evan. For he was lucky he hadn't married Courtney yet. He was always thinking about her though and worried over what she thought of him.

Now, a couple months after being granted a divorce, Evan invites her with him to Hawaii on the trip that was suppose to be his honeymoon. With pushes from Evan and her friend, Lisa, she accepts.

Just before leaving, he and Kelsey have a get together at his house. After a little too much alcohol, Kelsey lets out some feelings to Evan and some sexual demands.

You gotta give Evan credit, he made it a few days of seeing her in her swim suit before they both combusted. Both coming alive, they fit together like a missing puzzle piece. Spending days basking in the glow of each other. When she voices her fears of losing her best friend Evan reassures her, their friendship is only growing, not disappearing because of their feelings.

All they gained is put to the test when her ex- mother in law calls with the news her ex, Todd is in the hospital after a car accident. With no one else with her, Kelsey promises to be there as soon as she can.

Being woke for find Kelsey demanding she go home to be with her ex husband is a blow to Evan. Making things worse is her denial to Todd's family that there is anything going on between them. Giving her space, he leaves after a few words with his own ex, who feels Kelsey's ghost interfering with her relationship with Todd. Evan says it has a name...called guilt.

Lisa with her motherly advise, gets her kick started on making changes in her life by getting rid of remembrances from her marriage and shutting off Todd from controlling her any more.

Going to his office, she acknowledges she was holding onto the past, but not anymore. She's loved him all her life and is ready to act on it. Lucky for her, he's tired of running too.

A year later, back in Hawaii, they celebrate their wedding with a honeymoon meant for them. Of course keeping the upcoming newest arrival in the family a secret for now.

One of the best things about this book was their weren't any games played between Evan and Kelsey. It didn't take them long to act on their feelings and the guilt Kelsey felt was real and her struggle to cut the connection between her and her ex husband is a real struggle faced everyday.

I was glad for once a couple actually made up and got back together before knowing they had a baby coming. Evan and Kelsey were made for each other.

Don't miss out on his brother Brian's story. Accidentally read that one first and it's explosive.
