Having read "The Penelopiad" on holiday, and prepping myself for some upcoming courses on Coursera, I realised there was no time like the present to read The Odyssey again. I enjoyed the re-read, though I'm not sure if I would have preferred an edition hewing a bit more to the poetic nature of the original; there was enough similarity to the poem (particularly in phrasal repetition), but different structure that the consistent repetitions stood out in a somewhat grating fashion.

Still - the story itself was enjoyable, recounting Calypso and Circe, Charybdis and the cyclopean debacles, and worth the time spent to reread it.
