As an adult this is a very light read, but it’s still a fun adventure story, and makes an excellent little book vacation on a rainy day. The world is a fun twist on Greek mythology (and hopefully will get kids more interested in that subject), and I love the idea of Camp Halfblood, and the idea of modernizing the mythic beings. It’s really well written, especially for its target audience, and balances telling a good tale with a good plot with a lot of fun action. The characters are funny and well-rounded, I never felt that they were one dimensional like I sometimes feel in YA. Any ways, I’d really encourage parents to pick up this book to share with the family.
