This book was given to me by a writer-friend, and to be honest, when I read the flap copy, I knew I'd have to be in the right frame of mind to read it. Only because it dealt with a teen going through stressful and tragic events in her life - the Crisis in Argentina. So I waited to read it. When I finally picked it up this summer, I was glad I did. As I read, the Crisis in Argentina was paralleled to the terrorist attack of 9/11. Little did I know, that I would read this book and finish it on 9/11/11. Not sure whether the raw emotions of reliving that day changed how I read the last quarter of the book or not, but I felt strongly tied to the book because of it. My only wish was that the end didn't wrap up as neatly and quickly as it did. I wanted Dani to have a few more experiences in the US. Overall, a great read and voice was true.
