The last Elvis Cole book I read (book #3, Lullaby Town), I did it in 2009. I have this one for awhile but never get the chance to pick it up. I guess I was in the mood for other genres and it's forgotten until now.

This time, Cole takes a case from a young woman, Jennifer Sheridan, who is so sure that her fiancé is in trouble and asks Cole to investigate. At first, Cole is reluctant, especially when the fiancé, Mark, a member of LAPD Elite plainclothes called REACT, visits Cole afterward and tells him that he is having an affair and just doesn't want Jennifer to know. Soon though, Cole finds out that there is more the story, that REACT team is actually dealing with the shady-side of drug deals.

Boy, oh, boy, this one is highly fun!!! I love Cole's humor and wittyc charm. He cracks me up, that Cole. Oh, the scene where Jennifer cries and begs Cole to keep investigating the case is my favorite because this time Cole cannot really. And Pike still kicks some bloody asses!! The part where they escape from jail is awesome!! I love their partnership so much. Now that I remember how fun I have with Elvis Cole and Joe Pike and I want to take out book #5 immediately and have that as my next reading ...
