Read in September, 2011 — I own a copy

Overall I felt that this book is just alright. The characters were interesting and stories were detailed but I just felt that there were too many characters involved and no real closure to it.

And my thoughts were based on:

1) Francesca's entrance and her involvement as an alibi for Victor.
2) Joseph Bianchin's departure in this first story was a little too abrupt since he's the other Italian family involved in the ongoing feud.
3) Why was Luis Hernandez murdered?
4) The reason for Josh to be involved in the crimes?
5) Was the wine the secret that Noona was hiding all these years?

The above are my questions on the story. I understand it's a trilogy and there's more to the story but the first installment just seems a little incomplete to me.
