I had to wait a while after finishing this to decide what my true feelings are.
I've long been a fan of Tom Clancy's Op Center series - own them and have read them more than once. Have been waiting impatiently for the continuation with the off-spring carrying on the traditions.
However, this one just didn't do it for me. Although well written, there was a lot of rehashing of what felt like old news article concerning the Mexican drug cartels. There was also an awful lot of indiscriminate bloodshed/deaths by every faction depicted.
The interpersonal interactions were heartwarming, realistic and interesting to see.
Tom Clancy has always fascinated me with the amount of information - military and technological - he included in his books. Sometimes two years prior to them being admitted to by the powers that be!
Unfortunately, this is one series that I will not persue.
