Sarah Mayberry has become an auto-buy for me. This was a wonderful story of two people with real baggage to overcome, who rub each other the wrong way from the moment they meet--until the sparks they strike off each other turn into a whole different kind of heat. The hero, Jon, is dealing with the memory of an abusive father, and that sensitive storyline is handled beautifully by the author. The heroine, Gabby, is very prickly at first, and I loved watching her soften (but never weaken) as the story progressed. One thing I love about Sarah Mayberry's heroines is how strong they are, and how they wade right into thorny situations with nothing but their courage to carry them through. Her characters always seem real to me, and I think that's why I always root so hard for them. Highly recommended!
