it was amazing

While this book is occasionally troubling, it is written in a very easy to read style, and I admire the author's candor about her journey as well as the fact that she doesn't try to over-explain herself, which would, I think, be a real temptation in writing this kind of book. I wasn't sure I would be able to warm up to the whole boyfriend analogy, but i do think it helps convey part of what can be troublesome about our approach to religion.

At another time in my life, this book might not have appealed to me, but it came along at just the right time for me. It has a bittersweet but honest feeling about it. If you have strong feelings about religion and a great deal of certainty in your belief system, you'll probably want to pass on this book, but if you can approach Sarah's story with curiosity and open-mindedness, it's a worthwhile read, with much food for thought.
