If you like to know what your investigator wears, what he eats and where he eats at all times, you should love this novel. Not being up on DC geography, I did not need to know where Spero Lucas was walking and exactly what streets he took. I did not need to know how he was dressed or how the bad guys were dressed, in meticulous detail. I did not need a complete description of the food and the restaurant, each time Spero took a meal.
In between these descriptions some interesting action scenes occurred. If you are a Stones' fan, some of the dialog will also appeal. However, the characters are for the most part one dimensional and not all that interesting. This is another instance in which a book has been overhyped and does not deliver. Every time Lucas goes on a bike ride, he needs sex. Every-time he takes a shower, he needs to walk somewhere and have a beer and so on. Luckily the book is not too long.
