I actually read the Suite 606 version without reading the other stories, so I am going with the audio entry since it's a stand-alone. This short "in Death" deals with a murder and little else. It is fast-paced and leaves you spinning as Eve races to the solution to the murder and makes 13 arrests. There are a few brief moments with Roarke where they go head to head over some minor things but for the most part, Eve steams ahead, blasting everyone out of her way until she has a wrap. Peabody gets to contact the PA for the warrants for the first time and Mira's schedule gets blown to smithereens as Eve forces her to leave her regular clients in the lurch so she can work with two people immediately, which probably saves their lives. A bit of ESP stuff in this one, with sensitives, the occult, etc. and Isis makes a cameo appearance with a brief reference to Chas, so that was nice. Still, these shorts always leave me wanting more than can be gotten into this format.
