** spoiler alert ** I think that the first half of the book was just...very dragging. I didn't find her family very interesting until she was transferred to the palace of the Pharoh and met all the other characters there. Before that, until she fell into the river and got the slave girl supposedly killed, I didn't see much worth in her. Afterwards though, the book took a turn for amazing and came off as incredibly funny and a great book for young readers. I loved it! I am so glad I decided to give this a try, and I'm hoping to read more of this author's work since it was a book so related with teenagerhood with a touch of cute romance and treacherous characters. I got very involved with the main characters and felt as if I knew them all or wanted to. There is a lot of girl-power here, something I never get tired of in ancient historical fiction! I can't wait to read this sequel!
