Read in April, 2008

I can't decide if it was the sloppy, self indulgent writing, the premise of the author's "spiritual" quest being premature suburban affluence and ennui, or the absolutely hackneyed garbage spewing up at every point in this book (Italy: pasta, beauty, men; India: meditation, guru, no men; Indonesia: Balinese healers, white do gooders, middle aged gaucho lovers)that made me not like this book but...

maybe someone else can clarify?
