it was amazing
I own a copy

I cannot believe that I've been on this site for months now and haven't rated this book. Why? I've read it at least three times (and it's massive), and every single time it's scared me, even more so now I've got kids.

'It' is easily the scariest book I have ever read, but not in a sensational way, not in an obvious way. It goes to the very core of my fears. So well crafted, packed full of beautiful details, with imperfect characters you fall in love with. I love every one of those kids - let's see if I remember their names:

Bill
Mike
Eddie
Beverley
Ritchie
Stan

Oh, and Georgie with his little paper boat in his yellow sou'wester. Poor Georgie, who has become both my kids every time I wave them goodbye.

I gave this to my husband. He had read most of Stephen King's books, but not this one. I watched him, night after night, reading it, and was delighted that he loved it (and hated it) as much as I did.

Anyway, I've just had two rum and cokes so I'll shut up now.

For me, this is Stephen King at his very very best.
