If you've been following this series beginning with Ghengis Khan, you won't want to miss this latest installment. It follows Kublai Kahn through the intricacies of changes in Great Khans, and the impact he and his brothers had on other countries. Their reach was ride and brutal, but Kublai is different. Educated in the Chinese way, he is much more of a scholar, and his policies are much more progressive than was typical of the Monguls. I would have liked to have seen more story about things other than war, but I guess that is reflective of the age.The Monguls fielded enormous armies and the loss of life was tremendous.

If you like stories of war, this is for you. Conn Iggulden does a wonderful job of bringing his characters to life.
