it was ok
bookshelves: 20th-century-fiction
Read in June, 2007

hughes has a haphazard storytelling style and clumsy, inconsistent prose that makes the book almost unreadable at times. he captures the mind and motives of children well, and with a cool, sardonic humor, but the story's choppiness and hughes's awkward habit of skipping between characters makes it an unsatisfying commentary.

Nora yeah, I really didn't like it much - I wanted to, considering all you'd told me about it, but I was disappointed. it didn't blow me away. I don't think I could even recommend it to anyone.
