Alexander and Nadia's adventures continue, this time in a remote kingdom nestled in the Himalayas. Isabel Allende writes a captivating sequel to this adventure series that explores different cultures and the spiritual elements that those cultures embrace. This time, the focus is on Buddhism, a intriguing subject on its own.

Not only are these books a lot of fun, but they're well-written. Allende does her research well, and then makes her own spin on fact to create her modern-day fantasy adventure stories.

Angela Mondragon My mom really likes Allende's work, though she's not read any of the young adult stuff. I may have to check these out.

Suzanne If Allende did any research at all on Tibetan Buddhism, she didn't use it in this work.

Kate Hence "spin on fact". I love nit-pickers.
