It is very rare that I'm so eager to read a book that I don't wait for the paperback. Although I enjoyed reading The Wild Places, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I expected more natural history content. If you're looking for a natural history travelogue of the British Isles this isn't it. if you're looking for something which focuses on the authors interactions and reactions to different natural environments peppered with social, historic and biological facts and stories you are much less likely to be disappointed.
