(10/10) Reading X'ed Out is to feel the salivation of possibility -- that far from being the culmination of Charles Burns's odd but brilliant career, Black Hole was just a new beginning. X'ed Out is 64 pages of brilliance, taking the bizarreness and human pathos of his earlier works and managing to up the ante on both (and in wonderful colour too!). You'll have those "I'm not quite sure what's happening, but this is AWESOME" moments. And then you'll hit the end and be terribly mad that there isn't any more. Urgently awaiting Part 2.
