Yet another "heard about it on NPR"--and perhaps the most intriguing, troubling, satisfying read in quite some time. The 3 stories, even the mythical Isidora legends (and I don't react well to fantasy), work together seamlessly to create a story that I won't soon forget. I thought there could be no more compassionate, insightful exploration of Alzheimer's disease than last year's movie "Away from Her," but I suspect I was wrong. This one will be re-read many times, I'm sure. I'm astonished at the young novelist's ability to draw such convincing and diverse characters.
