All the Pretty Horses (The Border Trilogy, #1)
by Cormac McCarthy
by Cormac McCarthy
WOW.
I read the Border Trilogy in Senior Year of High School for AP English (my teacher went to school with McCarthy, and got advance copies of Cities of the Plain - I had NO idea how lucky we were). I honestly didn't remember much of it, probably due to my ADD-addled brain.
Now that I'm drugged-up enough to settle down and concentrate for a minute or two on writing? WOW. This book made me interested in the West, and Horses, and all that other crap that seemed so remote and banal and boringly American to me. I actually went and looked up different breeds of horses so I could get a little better head on my shoulders for reading this.
And it's amazing. McCarthy's amazing. Amazing.
