WOW. What a change in pace.
You would have never guessed at the start of this book just what all challenges were to come.
It seems our beloved characters were on Possessive, uncommunicative, spiteful, and mood alternating pills. Both Cat and Bones were acting like possessive pigheaded know-it-alls.
Whether from his recent power increase or just a nasty bug up his butt, Bones for some reason thought Cat should bow down to him now and watch her actions around him.
Cat also took a 180 with her emotions all over the place. From feeling worthless and lost since quitting her job to over aggressive and quick to pass judgement.
When Cat's dreams begin being invaded by Gregor, whom she was captured by at 16 and it turns out bonded too, is after her. Now Cat's not safe when she sleeps and is being shuffled around without being able to know where she is to keep Gregor from getting the location from her head.
Not helping is the way her and Bones seem to have stopped communicating all together. Just steadily snapping at each other until Cat meets with Gregor and Bones calls it off between them.
What felt rush to me what how suddenly everyone was pressuring her to change into a vampire. It seemed like Cat and others had been considering more than I was aware of. Asking Bones to change her, gives them a chance to finally talk through the confusion and explain how they have hurt the other.
Making up, Cat is indeed changed by Bones. However, she doesn't escape being unique. With her unusual eating habits and her heart that just doesn't want to stop beating fully.
Yet the battle with Gregor isn't over. Sides are chosen, rules are broken, and lives are changed and lost.
*Wasn't crazy about Cat being changed. Her being half-vampire half-human was something I enjoyed. Wasn't crazy with the out there way Cat and Bones acted in this book. They both need to chill.
