Essential supplement when reading the Night's Dawn triology, in my opinion one of the best SF books ever written. Does not carry spoilers and can be read before the trilogy or kept as a reference during reading.

Tim Smith What would you recommend? Read this before - which I am guessing wouldn't make a lot of sense - or use it as a reference while reading the trilogy?

Torben Hi Tim,

Consider it as some kind of Encyclopedia Galactica. Actually I do recommend reading this before starting the books, as it explains various parts of the universe in greater detail.

There are a few sections with information about the events that take place during the story, but they are marked as such.
