Fun read-aloud book for middle grade kids. Think Lemony Snicketish bleak humor. This is about three children who have to take matters into their own hands when they are abandoned by their horrible parents. Lovely ties to old-fashioned children's books and complete with an entertaining glossary of vocabulary. My 9-year-old and 12-year-old both liked this book.
