it was amazing

This is one of my favorite stories to read during Christmas to my students. I think it is a wonderful story with beautiful images that bring the holidays to life. I like his take on childhood innocence abour Santa, the North Pole, and what the Christmas means to them. From the minute the boy gets on the train to his return home I feel like a kid again everytime I read the book. I love the ending with the sliver bell and how only those who believe can hear.

The images are amazing and give the feel of winter. From the dark backgrounds of a cold night to the purity of white everywhere throughtout. I like his take on the North Pole and making it a real city and not some cartoonish town. It looks like a place where people could live, go to work to make toys, and
reindeers could live. I always admire his pictures like looking at artwork.
