Generally speaking, the "genre" of chick-lit is one I find rather embarrassing. There tends to be a distinct lack of any real artistry, and the plot always revolves around some girl who ultimately just wants to be rescued by a man. While the Shopaholic series is no different, it manages to do all this with a sparkling dose of light humour, and so it is one of my few exceptions. :)
