liked it
bookshelves: fantasy

I liked it but not as much as I thought I would; though I'm reserving the right to alter my opinion after I've read the Magician King. I was looking forward to MAGIC and there is some, but it felt like a side bar to Quentin's whining. Also, I couldn't not imagine Fillory as Narnia... Too similar, I would have appreciated a little (a lot) more originality in Fillory. That, or just call it Narnia and be done with it. Funny though, everyone mentions Harry Potter, and I didn't have a problem there... The ONLY similarity was that they both go to a private school, but the comparison ends there. I really hope Q gets over himself in the sequel and we get to enjoy some feats of magic and adventure.
