CIP: In this visually stunning book, seeing is believing as Steve Jenkins illustrates animals both large and small at ACTUAL SIZE.

REVIEW: Jenkin's amazing cut paper art paired with the concept of showing actual sizes of animals no matter how much of them fits on the page is a hit! This over-sized book is great for storytimes and read alouds, as children will ooh and aah over the one foot eye of a squid vs. a 1 foot tarantula. The paired pages show a great eye for choosing contrasting animal sizes. Two pages at the end contain complete scaled-down pictures of the animals with general information. Be sure and let children each put their own hand up against the gorilla’s for comparison.

SLJ: "A thoroughly engaging read-aloud and a must-have for any collection."

Bulletin of Center Children: Starred review. "The real triumph here, however, is the compositions...the book makes brilliantly creative use of its tight focus, resulting in startling closeups."

Stefanie I'm really excited to check this out. You did a great job explaining all of the features of the book. It sounds like something kids would just love (and I really want to put my hand up against the gorilla's too).
