All Ali Reynolds wants is rest and completion of her Sedona, Arizona home following the aftermath of Arabella Ashcroft’s madness, but the gingery former anchorwoman finds herself embroiled in the middle of a brand new murder case. What is worse her contractor, Bryan Forester, is the only suspect in his wife’s brutal killing. Bryan insists he is innocent though he admits that Morgan was cheating on him using SingleatHeart.com where like –mind married “singles” hook up. Having been suspected of her not quite ex-husband’s murder, Ali believes him, but her sometimes boyfriend, Detective Dave Holman, does not. In fact the whole town believes Forester is guilty. Determined to help Bryan, Ali investigates the website administered by an evil hacker who plays with people’s lives and deaths that visit his site.
While this is not the best J. A. Nance novel that I’ve read, the story is fast paced and quirky having Ali’s Cutloosed.com blog mercifully in the hands of someone else. Cruel Intent is a solid three star story, because I usually loathe open murder mysteries.
