I found some parts of this book compelling - her chapters on breast cancer and on job searching - but found some of the ideas and/or connections in others a little thin. This book is altogether readable, and potentially the source of great conversation. I share her disdain for artificially positive thinking, and have all respect for people who are able to create a humane/can-do outlook even while maintaining a realistic/critical perspective. I suppose that's why Kurt Vonnegut is one of my role models...
