This was a very well written, informative yet emotional account of Haiti's history, the earthquake and the resulting aftermath, and an analysis of the solutions and productive roads to take going forward. Paul Farmer's overarching argument throughout the book is that while involving the government may slow things down and not be as easy as funneling resources and aid through NGO's, that is not sustainable nor will it help anything in the long run. He is and always will be a hero of mine and I can only hope others who have real decision making power read this and continue to keep him at the table for important decisions regarding Haiti.
