I've often felt more happy or less happy relative to where I am. This book comes up with some good reasons why this is true for many people, as well as what makes a community (or country) happy. There are some things all of the happy places have in common and some that are contradictory. He ties in a lot of philosophy and quotes from research and average people. It's a well told story, a spiritual journey, and a good read.
