it was amazing
bookshelves: writers-on-writing, mystery, story-within-a-story

The beloved writer in this book locks herself away in her house with her imaginary people. There are so many of them waiting to get into a story, they are laying across the floor in her office, and when she begins another book they all rise up and call, "Pick me, pick me." She must choose, and after she does, the rest sink back down to the floor, hoping to have the next turn.
There is one unfinished tale, the thirteenth tale, she must finish it before the end.
