A thoroughly enjoyable, quick read. I especially enjoyed getting Armsman Roic's point of view, and seeing a little more of Sgt. Taura. The ending is perhaps a bit bittersweet, but still thoroughly enjoyable. Roic's viewpoint of Miles, Ekaterin, Cordelia and Aral is particularly interesting. Because of his status as a trusted yet invisible servant he sees a lot, but due to his youth and inexperience he doesn't always understand all of it. Yet Bujold manages to leave plenty of lines for the astute reader to see between.
