This is the kind of "family & friendship" book I totally dig. Witty, crisp, well-written (de los Santos is a poet, which comes as no surprise if you've read her) and layered with the dramas of ordinary lives and relationships. Cornelia and Teo, from Love Walked In, move from NYC to a Philadelphia suburb with hopes of starting a family, but it's not so easy for them (especially Cornelia, who is labeled an urban intellectual) to make friends. de los Santos masterfully unmasks readers' preconceived notions about the suburbs and the choices people make. This is a book about taking risks for the people you love and sticking by your friends. Liked this even more than her first book. Sooo good.
