Imagine coming home from a hard, yet satisfying day of work. You've done some good in your part of the world. Your family or boyfriend or girlfriend comes home not long after, and dinner is many of your favorite foods. The mail has brought the latest issue of your favorite magazine. On TV, reruns, but in particular, a rerun of your favorite episode of your favorite show. Feel that bliss, that warmth, that peace, that love? That is what a novel by Barbara O'Neal feels like. This is what "The Lost Recipe for Happiness" feels like. That is what I hope she keeps doing in future novels, especially using ghosts as part of life. There's no supernatural element to them, causing disturbances to various lives. They're just there. They're a haunted past, and absolutely necessary to the stories O'Neal writes so well. I want more from her, so much more.
