I liked the story in Blood Work however I felt that it was but a snippet compared to the satisfying length of a regular Harrison novel. I had mixed feelings about the art. Kisten is not as I pictured him, nor is Ivy. I appreciated the section in the back that explained the development process of the graphic novel. I preferred some of the earlier sketches of both Kisten and Ivy. It's interesting to see how the writer's characters are transformed into their visual personifications. I could see what was most likely a compromise between the publisher and the author in the end result.
