Not one of Sack's best works -- his writing is still fluent and interesting, but he hits the same notes over and over again (brains are mysterious and powerful! music has a complex relationship with peoplehood!) in this book, and after a while, it started feeling a little heavy-handed. Perhaps this wouldn't bother me as much if I had more musical feeling, but as is, I'll stick to The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat, thanks.
