Lady Killer is the first novel ive read by Lisa Scottoline and will not be the last. The story revolves around lawyer Mary DiNunzio who is confronted by an old adversary from her school years Trish Gambone at her work. Trish is very scared and wants Mary's help feeling her life is under threat from her boyfriend who has connection with the mafia. Mary tries to help her but cannot convince Trish to go to the police. The next day Trish goes missing and Mary feeling guilty for not doing more and believing she may be dead tries to find her.
The story moves along with many suprises including Trish's boyfrind being found dead and Mary going to great lengths to find her dead or alive. These actions will cost her much including her job as she dedicates most of her time to Trish and loses clients. Only Mary's work friend Judy and her male friend Anthony keep her going. What has happened to Trish and who killed her boyfriend were the questions going through my mind with my main suspect being Trish who spent years of abuse or the mob. The storyline keeping me quessing till just before the end.
Lady Killer was for me a riveting read that i simply could not stop reading. The most suprising thing for me being humour put into the writing that left me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. This was welcome for me as a number of crime novels ive read can be a bit overwhelming with the drama. Excellent characters combined with a well thought out storyline make for a great read.
