Matthew's Hero is tale of suspense dashed with a bit of the super natural. The main character, Matthew, is your typical five-year-old when it comes to wanting to play with puppies. The neighbor's a few house's down however, are not your typical neighbor's. Using a puppy to lure Matthew out of his backyard and to their house begins every parent’s worst nightmare. Your child has been abducted! His mother a single parent is more than distraught she’s torn to pieces over the loss of her son. Not only did she lose her husband in a military confrontation she’s now lost her only child.

Matthew’s not alone in his struggle to survive his kidnappers and his abductors are in for a rude awakening when they are forced to contend with someone from the other side.

What Matthew's Hero lacks in length it makes up with intensity! The story line flows well and is a quick read. You can sit down and enjoy this tale in one evening.

Michael Hughes has done a magnificent job in telling his story. He will draw you into the roller coaster ride of emotions that every parent would feel if their own child was kidnapped. Though there are several editing errors, Hughes ability to weave a story of this intensity could lead him to be a very shrewd author once an editor aided him in his endeavors. 3-Stars
