did not like it
bookshelves: misc

I really wanted to like this book, but I didn't because it just seemed like every white male character in it was a rapist. While it does tell of an interesting and darker period in Germany's history - how women were shipped to the German settlements in South Africa for the sole purpose of marrying whoever wanted them - it's predictable in places. Hana X goes from being sexually abused in an orphanage to being gang-raped and mutilated in South Africa. Because all white men want is sex and they are all rapists.
