For a series with SO MUCH ripe for the mocking (and, yes, I did read every single one of them, and enjoy them for the most part, but even at the time I was well aware how ridiculous they were), this book was awfully slim on the laughs (even when taking into account how slim the book itself was). There were probably 2 times I actually laughed out loud reading it, several that made me smile, but a whole bunch that were just groan-inducing.

But, I think most parody is like that - even Weird Al has some clunkers, right, and who hasn't argued about how Saturday Night Live's best season was x years ago (even though x years ago they were saying it about y years ago - it's easy to forget all the chaffe and just remember the wheat years later).

Don't expect more than it is, and it isn't so bad. Hope for comedy gold and, well... maybe you have a more forgiving sense of humor than I do.
