Written from the POV of an autistic, mathematical genius, 15 year old boy, this book starts with his midnight wanderings & his discovery of his neighbor's dog Wellington, brutally stabbed to death with a garden fork. Christopher, who loved the dog, takes the fork out of poor Wellington, & picks him up to say goodbye, & is caught by the dog's owner, Mrs. Shears, who calls the police, thinking Christopher was the one who killed her dog. Christopher embarks on a mission to find Wellington's killer, inspired by his favorite detective, Sherlock Holmes. On his journey to find Wellington's killer, he tells an amazing story, resulting in some revelations that shake him to the core of his beliefs, & his incredible trip to London to see the mother he was told was dead.
