it was amazing

This was the best book I read in 2010. I remember finishing the last page as I was taking a plane to Europe and sitting in my seat for an hour afterward, letting the book sink in. Aimee Bender is a terrifically insightful writer who gets us to see the small and large sadnesses of life through quirky ideas, but Lemon Cake has a particular kindness, a wistful kind of hope, that is lovely.
