The Diary of Mattie Spenser
by Sandra Dallas
It sounds like I need to read this one. I loved "These is My Words" and the sequel, "Sarah's Quilt." They are both great frontier stories. You need to read those if you loved this one.

I didn't know there was a sequel to These is My Words! Was it as good as the first? Sequels scare me. I loved the first so much, I don't want the story spoiled.:) Let me know what you think!
I think it was just as good. There were some new characters added. It is her life after her husband died. It was not as brilliantly written, but you will not be disappointed in reading it. If you have a hard time finding it I would be willing to let you borrow mine.

I was not excited to read this book....but oh, I am so glad I did! This really was a great love story! Mattie sets out with her new husband to start a life in the Colorado Territory. Frontier life in the 1800's doesn't sound like an appealing read, but I need to remember to give things a chance. I was quickly swept up in the trials and bits of happiness that graced Mattie's life. I should have suspected that Sandra Dallas's story would be hightly entertaining. She always makes for a pleasant read. Another great frontier book that I was skeptical about was "These Is My Words". Never judge a book by the genre! :)
