The Enormous Crocodile was a favourite book of mine as a child and I have very fond memories of it. At the beginning the Enormous Crocodile boasts that he is the bravest and most clever crocodile in the jungle. He furthermore boasts that he has "secret plans and clever tricks" to lure his favourite food ,children, to him. On his way to a village with lots of children he describes his plans to several different animals in the jungle and they all disagree/dislike his plans. These animals are who eventually foil his plan as the blow the whistle when he is just about to pounce.

I believe this story is suitable for year 3 children and younger as a story time activity or a creative writing activity for Yr3/ upwards.
